Welcome to Chess Club!

Signal Hill's Chess Club is currently in its fifth year and welcomes all players from first to fifth grade.  Mrs. Coffey and Mr. Peterson, who sponser the club, are thrilled with the participation, growth and progress everyone has made!  Last year we had approximately 100 members!

Many of our Chess Club students also have competed in Prince William County chess tournaments on the weekends.  Our highest team trophy is a 2nd place finish.  Check out all of our trophies in the trophy case in the front hallway!

Now we are getting ready to start another great year of Chess Club in 2009-2010 (our first meeting will be October 27th!).  Chess Club meets on Tuesday mornings from 8:15am to 9:00am, before school starts.  Students are walked into the cafeteria by an adult and signed in.  We always need parent volenteers and no chess experience is necessary.
